Sheldon Patinkin Endowed Award

The Sheldon Patinkin Endowed Award was established by Sheldon Patinkin and friends at Columbia College Chicago.

A noted stage director, Sheldon Patinkin was a professor in and Chair Emeritus of the Theatre Department at Columbia College, as well as artistic consultant to The Second City and Steppenwolf Theatre and co-director of the Steppenwolf Theatre Summer Ensemble Workshops.

Patinkin also authored The Second City: Backstage at the World's Greatest Comedy Theater and No Legs, No Jokes, No Chance: A History of the American Musical Theater.

The Sheldon Patinkin Endowed Award will give an outstanding Theatre student a cash stipend in his or her senior year at Columbia to aid in his or her journey toward a professional career.
